Chef Hu Yanmei has come from her family's restaurant in Harbin, in North China, with dumplings, noodles and other dishes that are genuine reflections of Dongbei-style cuisine. In recent years, she has been joined in the kitchen by her daughter, Lulu, an accomplished baker, and Lulu's husband, Peter, a fine chef from Inner Mongolia.

"Chef Jenny" uses only the finest ingredients, employs time-honored techniques and refuses to serve anything but honest dishes that are faithful to Dongbei, the region of China that Americans often call Manchuria.
